CIRCULAR ECONOMY

A PLASTICS CIRCULAR ECONOMY PROJECT FOR YOUR BUSINESS.

New environmental standards, the climate crisis and environmental pollution are dictating a growing demand from companies for recycled plastics.
Firms can play a leading role in the plastics circular economy by giving a new lease of life to recoverable waste.

Starplastick gives companies the opportunity to develop circular economy projects: plastic scrap and waste from industrial processing can become new resources.

– We develop projects to reuse recycled plastics and produce new goods.
– We study production flows with regenerated waste as a secondary raw material.

The entire process is traceable, becoming an important lever for the economy, sustainability, and corporate reputation.

OVERVIEW OF PLASTIC MANAGEMENT IN EUROPE

The contemporary economy makes extensive use of plastics, and demand is steadily growing.
Europe produces more than 3,5 million tons of plastic per year (as at 2018). 39.9% of this plastic relates to packaging, with packaging accounting for about 60% of total plastic waste.

32.5% of plastic waste is recycled (source:European Parliament and European Commission). The rest is largely conveyed to incinerators and 25% is disposed of in landfills.
Half of the plastic sent for recycling is processed outside the European Union due to a lack of facilities and resources.

The current management of plastic – still insufficiently circular – has an enormously negative impact on the environment and on the economy. Europe has launched a circular economy programme to be implemented by 2050, which also includes the reduction of plastic.

THE PLASTICS CIRCULAR ECONOMY.

What is the plastics circular economy? Moving from a traditional, linear economy (production – consumption – waste) to a circular economy (production – consumption – recycling – reuse) brings enormous environmental and economic benefits to the community and to businesses.
Ensuring a long life cycle for plastics based on circular consumption results in real gains, as well as ensuring environmental and social sustainability.

THE DOUBLE VALUE OF RECYCLING AND REUSING PLASTICS IN YOUR COMPANY

For a company to adopt a plastics circular economy requires an initial design commitment, but the ensuring financial results are significant. Waste and scrap go from cost to resource.
We help companies define a plan to reuse recycled plastics, either as a secondary raw material or as a new product for use within the company.

REDUCED DISPOSAL COSTS

The greater the recycled plastic, the lower the waste and scrap disposal costs.

SAVINGS IN RAW MATERIALS

The greater the use of secondary raw materials in the production cycle, the lower the amount of new raw material to be bought.

IMPROVED CORPORATE REPUTATION

Making a concrete contribution to a cleaner environment and a more sustainable economy is an important choice to be communicated to all stakeholders.
